AUG 27: CHEAP TRICK APPEARANCE Art will be performing a few songs with Cheap Trick tomorrow night (Sat., Aug. 28) in Rockford, IL. The show is Cheap Trick's 25th Anniversary bash and is scheduled to include guest appearances from other musicians. AUG 11: THE TRUTH ABOUT AUSTIN RollingStone.com's recent story about files being charged against members of Everclear was about half-accurate. Yes, those events transpired. The police even went to the venue that night. But the police determined that night that the woman had not been harmed, and no charges were filed. These charges may exist. But, if they do, neither Art nor Brian has yet been contacted by anyone in Austin. From Capitol Records:

EVERCLEAR: AUSTIN, TEXAS INCIDENT
Because there have been numerous conflicting statements in the media and
on the Internet regarding the incident which occurred during Everclear’s
July 31st performance at the Music Hall in Austin, Texas, the band feels
compelled to issue the following account of the incident.
During Everclear’s performance, audience members were repeatedly throwing
objects up on stage. Lead singer, Art Alexakis, had been hit twice by such
objects and warned the crowd against continuing this behavior. Shortly
thereafter, Art was hit in the face by a glass full of liquid which was
again thrown from the audience. Art was hurt and, accordingly, Everclear
stopped playing and left the stage. A few minutes later security walked
backstage and informed the band that a young woman had identified herself
as the person who had thrown the glass (apparently, the audience had
identified her as the thrower and had convinced her to confess so that the
show would continue). As the band returned to the stage to resume the
performance, security brought the woman in question out of the audience in
order to eject her from the premises. As she neared the stage area, she
started screaming, cursing and spitting at Art and the band. A member of
the band’s touring crew, agitated by this woman’s behavior, poured water on
her. She grabbed his leg and tried to pull him off the stage. He pulled
his leg free, pushing her away. Security ejected the woman from the venue
and she later called the local police. The police interviewed witnesses,
including the band, and told the band that they had determined that no
injury had occurred to the woman and that there had been no wrong doing on
Everclear’s behalf. The police sent everyone home. The band is not aware
of any criminal charges having been filed against them. AUG 4: DRC PREMIERE AND VH1 SPECIAL The Detroit Rock City world premiere will be held this Monday, August 9 in Los Angeles.
